Some kind of musical dreamteam?

I’ve sort of grown up with, the awesomely productive, Peter Dolving and his projects (The Haunted, Bringthewarhome, Peter Dolving Band, Mary beats Jane, and so on, and so on…), mainly the Gothenburg death metal act The Haunted. A band I’ve seen numerous times through the years, most recently at the Emmaboda festival (a show which ended with Dolving throwing his clothes out in the audience, leaving the stage naked). But I can’t help feeling that me and The Haunted has grown apart, or rather: me and death metal has grown apart. So I get, kind of excited when, this morning, the scandinavian-music-news-blog Itsatrap, served me with following rumors.
Peter Dolving apparently is in the middle of a project, at the moment described as such: “some kind of NeurosisKentDiscoBowieStoner with LOTS of guitars”
It is also said (in previous linked blogs) that this project involves (among others, I only mention the names I recognize):
Jesper Liveröd, who we know from such bands as Nasum, and more recently Burst (Burst is apparently going to call it quits after the upcoming transatlantic-tour).
Scott Reeder, from american stoner-rockers Kyuss.
This glorious mess is then produced and mixed by Fredrik Reinedahl. Who (I’ve, sadly, never heard about him) previously worked with Burst, and the fucking most incredible band ever: Abandon.

The project seems to be funded by Paypal-donations through various myspace-pages, so it might take a while to pull off, I figure. If I’ve had a job, I’d consider donating.

Super Mario!

I, pretty recently, completed Super Mario World on my GBA (Yes the old SNES version with Yoshi) for the second time. And when I say “completed” I mean COMPLETED. All Yoshi coins, all stages.
And so, today (as usual when I get psyched about something, this is already tweeted, facebooked and shared in Google Reader), I find this (via Today’s big thing).
INFINITE Mario Bros!
A, sort of, mash-up of graphics from different Mario titles, put together in a Java game, which randomly produces stages for you to play. For ever!
The original NES control and it’s Mario-setup, is so deeply rooted in my backbone, it is kind of hard playing this on my laptop, even though the stages aren’t that difficult (I haven’t got past the first world yet, maybe it gets harder).
But I love the idea of playing Mario for all eternity…
Oh, also there’s some kind of Infinite Mario AI competion going on, I didn’t really care to read about it…
