Just in!

I’ve managed to follow three different twitter-feeds since I got my account. One of those being The mae shi. A group I learned to love during my days in the post office of Kortedala, with the office stereo.
So this is just in!:

Bagels and beer

Here are some pictures from our fantastic Saturday. It was spent with the help of a lot of beers and some homemade bagels.

A tasty bagel
My tasty bagel

A not so tasty bagel
Daniel’s not so tasty bagel

A happy Daniel
But Daniel didn’t seem to mind the lack of stuff on his bagel. Could it be the beers?

Idea of the evening: Polarity switch

Some weeks ago I was out wandering the streets, when I found this trashed cassette player. “Woohoo!”, I thought.
Today seemed like a good day to go berzerk on the poor thing.
I started off by realizing that my inventory does not contain any batteries (it probably wouldn’t have made any difference if it did, they always seem to be empty when found anyways). “Well let’s use an AC adapter instead!”, I thought. Figuring it’ll save me the money, and the trouble, getting those batteries. I hunted down an adapter with the output of 4.5V. “That’ll do!”, I said, scurrying to the kitchen table. Plugged into the wall and forced into the remains of the apparatus, it turns out the polarities are inverted. The motor runs backwards, spitting cassette tape contents all over the cassette compartment.
“Let’s rewire something!”, I argue, and grab the pliers.
It ends up with me slicing the chord of the adapter, crossing the wires inside and reattaching, using a magnet and some duct tape. This way, I believe, I would be able to easily switch the polarity back when/if needed.
It looks like:
At own risk, make sure to check that insurance before plugging to whatever

Yeah, probably should have used some other material… It shows the magnet is strong (STRONG!) and attracts some other stuff, causing some short circuit and some formation of smoke.
But hey! It’s a nice idea! I haven’t even looked around for something like this, so if someone should find something interesting, post it here, or something.

Vmguld HQ: Status update

A couple of weeks ago (or is it months?), Vmguld.se invested in a copy of the board game Risk.
Today was the day to take it for a spin (after a disastrous set of Betapet).
This is how it played out:
